Our first review features the Men’s Denton 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket by TO24. TOG24 produce some fantastic outdoor apparel and have kindly sent us a selection of their collection to wear and share on our social media channels.
Before we go into any detail, it’s important to note that TOG24 also do a women’s version of this waterproof jacket, known as the Beverley 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket.
Lancashire Lads have been testing the TOG24 Denton Jacket for almost 12 months, here are our thoughts on their fantastic innovative waterproof jacket design…
1) 3-in-1 Design
Of course, no.1 on our list has to be the 3-in-1 design feature! The ability to wear a) the waterproof jacket on it’s own b) with the inner quilted shell attached or c) just the quilted layer / jacket worn on it’s own… makes this jacket a game changer!
Our suggestion for typical interchanging British Weather – simply wear both items zipped together for light rainfall conditions, stripping off the Waterproof outer layer to just the quilted layer if / when it stops raining.
During winter, wearing both layers helps to keep you warm vs slightly colder, windy conditions. If you’re looking for a waterproof jacket which you can adapt to the changing elements on your walks, look no further than the TOG24 Denton 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket.
2) Tape Seamed Zip Pockets
Who loves getting their valuables wet and soggy!? NO ONE.
Having multiple pockets to stash easily accessible valuables is so important for us. We often use our phones to GPS navigate around our walks, so the top 2 pockets are handy for quickly checking our location in heavy rain, without risking our non-waterproof mobile phones getting water-damaged.
You will find 2 chest pockets, 2 lower zipped pockets (again tape seamed) on the main waterproof, not to mention 2 more lower pockets (not tape seamed) on the quilted layer!
3) High Neck
The jacket’s ability to zip right up to part way up your face is honestly amazing for those cold, windy conditions where a wooly hat just won’t cut it.
Of course, you could wear a separate neck warmer of your own, but these can be hassle when conditions are ever changing, if your’e climbing uphill, getting hot and sweaty. The TOG4 Denton 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket on the other hand allows you to zip as high or low as you like… protecting you from the wind, rain and snow when needed!
Conclusion
The TOG24 Denton 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket might come across as the perfect hiking outdoors jacket, ticking all the boxes, but it could quite easily be worn for casual wear too.
Tough enough for British walking weather, smart enough for nipping into town or work!
